A few thousand dollars of tripods in my arsenal, but my Kestrel gets the most optic time in the past few seasons. By far the best return on my outdoor investment in a decade.
Faster, lighter, simpler, much less expensive than any useful tripod. I obsess over my equipment and I accept limitations only when necessary. Nobody is saying it’s a complete replacement for a good tripod but I’ll shoot from my Kestrel for some short, muzzleloader or grouse shots.This is a piece of gear that goes with me into the woods as essential as my trusty old compass.
